Number 5 - Joe Wicks -

Known for his tag line of 'Lean in 15' - easy and healthy meals that can be cooked in under 15 minutes, leaving no excuses for unhealthy eating. His 90 day plan, 4 cook books and an army of fans, Joe Wicks is definitely one of the most influential health and fitness personalities in the UK. Born in Surrey on a council estate, his life could have taken a very different turn. He was uneducated when it came to food, but always into sports. He graduated with a degree in sports science and during this started to learn about nutrition, this lead him into a career as a personal trainer. Joe describes his road to success in an interview with the Guardian:

"He says he only started the Instagram to get more customers, and he only started recipe and diet plans in the hope that if he sold 10 a month, he could do less training, and have an extra morning in bed"

He is now turning over more than a million pounds a month with all of his cook books topping the charts, and a new channel 4 series, all this from an instagram account! 

Number 4 - Michelle Lewin -

The fitness supermodel was born in Venezuela and came from humble beginnings. She didn’t know her father, and her mother separated from her stepfather when she was 14, leaving them with nothing. In her younger years she tried her hand at modelling, but struggled only being 5"4. She got into fitness and as her body started to change so did her career. She began to do a lot of fitness modelling, she now has over 12 million followers on instagram, her own workout program and exercise equipment, as well as a range of supplements. 

Number 3 - Emily Skye - 

Fitness model turned entrepreneur, Emily Skye comes in at number 3 - she has won a number of awards and now has her own fitness and diet plan. Skye has developed a personal brand based on self-improvement, the power of aspiration and transforming pessimism into optimism has helped tens of thousands of people transform their lives worldwide through the philosophy.

 Number 2 - Jennifer Selter -

Originally from Long Island Jen Selter has become one of the biggest instagram stars in the health and fitness world. She rose to fame through showcasing her passion for fitness  and her famous belfie shots have led to her being named the 'best bum'. Selter's main goal is simply to inspire and motivate people to reach their full potential, she does this through her health and fitness program, her blog and lots of social media, something she admits she has always been really good at. 

“I've always had a passion for social media: Facebook, Twitter and especially Instagram. Fitness has always been a huge part of my life and the combination of both my passions worked to my benefit. Despite my parents and friends' frustration with how time consuming this all can be, I always keep my focus and carry on."

She now has a huge social media following and is looking to further expand her empire.

Number 1 - Kayla Itsines -

The number one spot is taken by the Australian born Kayla Itsines - she began her career working in a women's only personal training centre, but felt that the results they were getting weren't good enough. So she took it upon herself to develop her own workouts, running this alongside her blog and instagram where she started to gain a loyal following. Her BBG program (bikini body guide) has over 7 million followers, and Kayla uses her instagram account to re-post pictures of the amazing transformations her "kayla's army" fan base have achieved.

Itsines released her app, Sweat With Kayla, last year, it’s currently the second highest grossing app in the Health & Fitness section of the App Store, one behind the Headspacemindfulness app. Alongside this she has also realised a fitness line and a new book, The Bikini Body 28-Day Healthy Eating & Lifestyle Guide. Last she she reportedly earnt over £17 million from her app alone - not bad for a 25 year old.
