SMART Goals How To Guide

Ok babes, so you’ve hit this page because you wanna know more about SMART goals, don’t worry we’ll make it quick and totes easy for you to get started setting your own SMART goals.

SMART goals stand for: 

S - Specific

M - Measurable 

A - Actionable 

R - Realistic 

T - Timebound 

If you follow this when you are setting your goals, we promise you are much more likely to achieve them! We’re gonna keep it focused on fitness and lifestyle as we are here to help you have fun and get sweaty, but once you’ve got it, you can apply it to ANY aspect of your life/work. 

Specific - ok so you wanna get fit? What does that mean to you? 

It’s time to get specific about that, maybe it’s going to the gym a certain amount of times per week, maybe it's hitting some PB’s on your squats, running a 10k, maybe you want more energy in your daily life, but get specific with what it means to you! 

Measurable - make it easy to track. 

Getting fit is a great start, but how do you know when you’ve hit that goal without making it measurable or setting the bar. Going to the gym three times a week could be a great way for you to make it measurable, or working towards something at the gym, a full pull up, a full press up?

Actionable - what could you do today or tomorrow to help you work towards that goal? How can you make it happen? 

Yep, you need a plan here - so three times a week is maybe your goal, so could you start with once a week and work up from there? 

Realistic - let's not get carried away, maybe you’ve decided you wanna hit the gym 7 days a week and get ’shredded’, honestly, if your already busy, this is gonna burn you out fast and lead to failure and probs feeling a bit shit about life. Training more than 4-5 times a week is not great for your bod or you, rest and recovery is just as important as the work. What does your week look like atm and go from there. Maybe you can only fit one session in to start with and work up. 

Time-Bound - let's get some dates to this goal, now that you know it's realistic. When do you wanna be hitting those three days by? March? Get it down! Maybe a pull up is your goal for the year, break it down into smaller milestones. Push-ups by March, working into pull-ups by June, building from there so you can eventually hit that full pull.
