5 Simple Morning Routine Hacks to Try Today
We’ve been spending some time trying to work out a morning routine that gets us fired up and ready to take on the day. Since going it alone and being ‘self-employed’ we've found having a good morning routine has really helped us to level up and get sh*t done.
Mindset is soooooo important and these morning routine hacks will get you into the right one and kicking ass! Plus, we know you are super busy and don't have time in the morning, know-one wants to get up earlier than they need to! These are super quick and simple hacks that you can easily add-in to your morning.
So without further ado, here our are 5 Morning Routine Hacks :
1. Prep the night before
A good morning routine starts the evening before! If you struggle to do anything in the morning, try and get this done the night before! For us, it's definitely getting dressed. So picking your outfit the night before can really help to save time. If your busy, try writing your to-do list the night before too, it just means you are super focused when you start work!
2. Lemon and hot water first thing
Squeeze half a lemon, a pinch of pink salt and hot water. It will get the body going! Have this as soon as you wake up to kickstart your day, flush out your system and leave you feeling great!
If you're not a fan of hot drinks, you can also have this one cold, try adding in some apple cider vinegar for an extra kick!
3. Meditate
Taking 5 -10 minutes to meditate in the morning is by far our biggest tip for a brilliant morning routine. It gives you a moment to check in with yourself and your body, connect with it and also reflect. We find this sets our mindset up for the day ahead. If you think of meditation as a muscle, at first you might not notice anything, but once you have done it for a few weeks, you will really start to notice the difference! Just like training any muscle in your body, it takes a few weeks before you notice changes.
4. Breakfast
Arguably the best meal of the day, but how bad are we for either skipping it or grabbing something quick and easy that doesn’t keep you full.
If you are in a rush we recommend a super simple protein smoothie

- 1/2 banana,
- A spoon of peanut butter
- Dairy-free milk of your choice
- Blend
It's a great one and you can even drink it on the way to work. Pop in some ice cubes to keep it cool.
If you have more time, go for something nutritious, porridge is a great one, add in some nuts, seeds and fruit to get in those extra bits of goodness. Remember, your body needs variety, so mix it up, try different fruits, different combos to keep you and your body interested.
5. Practising Gratefulness
Gratefulness ties in beautifully with the meditation, just take a small moment to think about or write down three things you are grateful for. Tip - think of things that are easy for you to connect with, maybe the coffee you are drinking, or getting to say good morning to your partner, or being able to call your friend or mum. If your feeling brave, maybe tell that person and pass on the gratitude! It could just be a quick text message, but it will make such a difference we guarantee it!
